Alignment shim Kit Cost and How Many Kits Needed?
hey all, my car needs and alignment now after the renntech coilover kit was installed. i have way too much negative camber (2.3-2.8) and there's zero camber adjustability as you know. that amount will kill tires too fatst for my liking, even with the scrub set properly. my alignment guy is saying that he can get the shims needed, but that they are $150 a box and he will need 4 boxes. that is insane. how much can i get the shims for if i order them myself and does he really need a box of shims per corner?

that's what i'm thinking too. what neg camber #'s were you able to achieve? i'm ok with up to 2.0, but don't want more than that front or rear for obvious reasons. also, what did you pay per-box of shims? my guy is saying $150 a box.

And I’m not tracking car. That price sounds right. They’re very odd shapes that Only Benz makes.

Hi,
First of all, I haven't changed the camber so far. I only know the shims (U parts) installed.
Don't know the shim kits. Does anyone have a picture?
Wouldn't it be interesting to note the before / after camper values in a ratio to the changed shims. So maybe its easier to assess which shim need to use.
Hope I have expressed myself in an understandable way.
Since you buy a whole set, you swap the built-in shims. The number of pieces remains the same?
The left over shims can be brought into an international shim donor bank. :-) :-) :-)
Best regards
Stenzel
