One step colder spark plug?
#26
HKS plugs that PTG offer are made for Nissan GTR. Those plugs are the correct thread and length for M177. People say they are running those with upgraded turbos.
Good question- What spark plugs are Black Series AMG GT (highest hp model) using?

This plug is in many AMG GT platform cars, so that means a running track record of its use, which is better than hunting down something else and getting it wrong.
It’s out there and known:
Your factory plug is an “8”, the HKS is a “9” so that means 1 colder….since made by the same manufacturer.[/QUOTE
The Top Electrode of the HKS is different than the OEM.
Do you think the ignition coils need to be swapped for these plugs?
No AMG GT car that is running the 1-range colder HKS plug has changed a coil yet for fitment reasons. I would have mentioned earlier if it was necessary.

I am thinking this is the correct racing plug for M177/M178. Yet to hear conformation on it though.

I got multiple thumbs up on the HKS 50003-M45HL for track and daily use. As for my personal preference, changing sparkplugs in these cars is not a walk-in-the park, so going back and forth in a multi-purpose vehicle use can be a time-consuming issue.
