Exhaust rattle question
Hello all,
I know this topic has been covered already. I am Experiencing a rattling noise when my exhaust valves are open. The noise occurs when I let off the throttle and continues as the car decelerates. I found a service Bulletin which had the dealership spray grease on the valves and replaced the actuator, however this did absolutely nothing to fix the noise. I did read that the Renntech EVM could alleviate the issue. However I wanted to know if anyone else fix the problem using this method before I spend 800 dollars on the part.
thanks

I have a 2018 GT R that also had an exhaust rattle. I fixed it by using the valve module. It still rattles with the exhaust flaps closed (exhaust button off), but I don’t hear it with exhaust flaps open.

I have a 2016 GTS and experienced the same rattling noise. Unfortunately there was no easy fix for it. Option 1 was cutting the exhaust and welding in new flaps/actuators (check out black post USA) because the original ones would always stick/rattle. I considered this option but after pricing everything out, I’d only be saving a few hundred bucks and the shops I’ve visited were concerned on even trying to cut/weld it or option 2 was buying a new exhaust since it’s one giant piece. I went with the latter and spent $3000 on a new exhaust. The good thing is it comes with a 2 year warranty so hopefully never experience that issue again. And, I got the valve control module and keep the valves open 100% of the time.
