Cannot get up my driveway

I have recently installed the Darwin Pro Aero carbon fiber front bumper. It must be a bit lower than the stock bumper because it now now longer will go up my driveway without scraping. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I've tried looking online for a solution but everything I find goes horizontal. With the long front end, I bottom out before those pieces would lift the car. I am currently using 2 8ft 2x10 boards as a long ramp to go up but having to do this 2x a day (coming and going) is a hassle. Does anyone have any other recommendations that might work?

The picture shows what solutions I can find but do not work for me. I need something going up the driveway.

Hi Bluelt,

From what I've seen on other forums, you have about the only option in the pic above other than making something homemade. Tough situation, I can imagine. Especially if you live in an HOA as, from what I've heard, they don't approve of these as a permanent install.

Some have been successful by entering the driveway on a sever angle. This starts one front wheel lifting the front end soon enough to clear. Backing in sometimes works too.

Best,

Have you tried doing it in reverse at an angle?

I modified my driveway entrance "so there's better wheelchair access" ... most municipalities are not willing to take on _that_ issue.

For the finishing touch, I applied black acid stain (after some aging). My wife's chair-bound friend now has no problem coming in when street parking ... and, coincidentally, the front TiKT brake-cooling ducts on the GTR Pro no longer want to scrape if I enter the driveway at an angle. Sometimes "unintended consequences" are OK. #;-))

Best,
I've tried entering at a strong angle and no luck. I haven't tried reversing so that may be my next shot.

What a great idea if I can get HOA to be on board but we don't have anyone with handicap needs so not sure they would go for that. I would like to see if it's possible to level the driveway out better but not sure if I can do that without completely removing the driveway and starting over.

I suffered from this issue for 4 years. I went to home depot and bought heavy duty, 3 layer wooden boards to drive over. This became horrible after it rained and they swelled. Plus the wooden boards became an eye sore. They always shifted and moved and were heavy. I suffered from splinters and it was a pain in the *** moving them and shifting them every time I wanted to pull out without the fear of scraping and drive off. I ended up just ponying up and spending $10K to re do my driveway entrance. It was the best $10K I ever spent. No other way around it. The GT is long and low and you would be tearing up expensive body pieces not to mention CF.
