Wheel spacers

2019 AMG GTC. Stock rims. 19 x 9 front and 20 x 12 rear. Going with 275/35 and 315/30 PS4S tires. Want to know what size spacers if any I could use?
Thanks in advance.

I believe the general consensus is 13mm front, 15mm rear. I have some en route from H&R and will let you know. Although, I am still running stock tire widths.

Ok thanks. I’m sure the wider tires will cut those sizes down by 5mm each…..

I know multiple people running 315s on the rear with 15mm spacers without issues.

Really?? Interesting. Do you know if they have 275’s in the front and if they run spacers there? And If so what size they are? Also wondering what tires? I know that makes a difference as the PS4S has a flatter shape and is about 1/4” wider vs the Super Sports

Not sure how applicable it is to you with your GTC, but on my GTS I'm running 15mm spacers on the rear, with 315 PS4S, and 5mm spacers front with 275 PS4S.

Interesting. Those are the same tires I’m running. Are those stock size rims? 19x9 front/20x12 rear? Has your car been lowered? I’m considering dropping it a bit in the future…

What is the purpose of your upsizing and widening? Esthetics or performance? Don't forget to take into consideration the rear wheel steering. Also rock chip enhancement. Haha.

Stock ride height and stock wheels, which are 19x9 front/20x11 rear.

there is a boatload of room back there - the GTR/GTC can fit a 355/25 21 if you wanted to spend 1200.00 a tire! Stock GTR is 325/30 20 without a spacer. A spacer would really just be for looks - you wont need it for fit.

It’s more for astherics then anything else although I’m sure the wider stance also helps with handling even by a small amount.

Perhaps, but spacers also alter the steering geometry which may not be for the better.

People say this a lot when they challenge the idea of spacers. I would love to see some evidence like a hot lap with or without them. Id bet even a better than average driver wouldnt be able to tell the difference. Id say you would have to run the car on (or over) the limit to challenge the impact of changing the scrub radius by that amount.

Supreme Power 15mm look good on GTR with GTR factory wheels with PSC2 tires, H&R 13mm look good on same car/wheels with R888R tires.

A LOT of cars in all classes this past weekend at SRO GT World Challenge races at Road America with spacers….another level / world I know, but they dial it in on some platforms with spacers. One specific model of car in GTX class had 40mm front spacers to run square wide set up.

Hi,

12mm do not work with the GT (S, C, R, BS)
Look for min.13mm.

Best regards

I have 12mm on the fronts - they do the job perfectly.

Hi Skilly,

12mm, are you sure?

Original Mercedes rim with 66.6mm centering?
Middle centering of the rim?
Without machining the wheel hub?

This combination would not be technically possible.
The centering collar of the wheel hub is already 13mm

Best regards

Stenzel

I've been running 5mm spacers on the front for the last 2 years.

I'm with you on the desire for real comparative data ... for both handling and tire wear, both track and street.

I’m seeing a lot of numbers thrown around but except for only a couple of responses it’s not clear what wheel sizes or tire sizes they are. Are they stock? Is the car a GT or GTC or GTR etc

Stock wheels and stock tires across the range can take the spacers that have been referenced. Individual taste will make them vary. If you start throwing in different wheels or tires, all bets are off without a point of reference.

Ive had a GTC and a GTR Pro (currently) in both cases I have used a 12mm front and a 15mm rear. I've just ordered a custom set of AL13s and those are front/ 20 x 10j ER43 and rear/ 21 x 12j ET36 which the equivalent of 13mm and 16mm spacers from the factory offset.
