Looking for a Set of Tires
2x - 275/30 20
2x - 325/25 21
I don't care if they are P-Zeros or PS4s, just need a complete set. Could use the power of the forum to find a set.
Thanks!
Matt
Unfortunately it doesn't work for you.
Germany:
2 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 275/30 ZR20 (97Y) XL MO
2 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 325/25 ZR21 (102Y) XL
together about 1700 USD
Best regards

From what I can see so far, I think I can use Deutsche Post and they then transfer shipment to DHL once it leaves the country.
If its total space, the last 2 options work. tires are actually 68 x 68 x 33 cm

Deutsche Post (now DHL) does not work. You are only allowed to have 1 measure over 60cm. 68 x 68cm does not work here.
The cheapest shipping (4 Tires) to USA i found was 850.- € :-(

325/25-21 must near 70cm?

The dimensions are:
fronts: 66 x 66 x 28 cm
rears: 68.5 x 68.5 x 33 cm
when I did Bonn to San Francisco the best pricing I could get was - $647 USD (the Euro is par at the moment)
Is the financial outlay worth it? Are these tires not available in the USA?
Tires:
Reifen online günstig kaufen @ ReifenDirekt.de: Winterreifen, Sommerreifen, Pkw-Reifen und Reifenhandel
You still need boxes:
Reifen versenden: Reifenversand & Kartons | Felgenkartons® (felgen-kartons.de)
If you only have an elderly grandmother in Bonn, I can also handle this for you.
Can order the tires, order the boxes, pack the tires, then have them picked up by the shipper from me.
Just want a refund for the actual cost.
Also note that import duty may still have to be paid.
If you still need help, get in touch.
Best regards.

That makes up for some of the shipping.

I had a source in the US for tires but it looks a little shaky - a used set that only might be available. Stock here is a nightmare for those sizes. Spoke to a couple of friends on the bespoke wheel business and counted between them 150 sets on backorder! The US consumer tire source (tirerack) just pushed their delivery status into November and calling Michelin direct I learned they have none available and no scheduled production. So the EU is about the only option short of my friend with the used set deciding to sell them to me afterall. In the meantime, I need to explore this option or potentially wait months, and that timing isn't certain given the other suppliers with large orders pending. Great example of the Supply Chain hitting multiple industries in a single blow.
You do bring up something I was hoping to avoid - boxes. Do you know if they are required? Tires short of a cut or targeted abuse would survive the trip without them. In adding them and recalculating dimensions, it jumps the shipping costs by 300 euro - is there a way you could help in confirming that they are optional? The US is of course someone clueless about things outside of the US (it tends to be a theme) so if I ask a local shipper, even DHL International, they can't confirm.
Thanks for your help here!
Shipping in Germany is possible in pairs without packaging. Costs almost nothing.
Unfortunately, air transport to the USA is only possible with cuboid and stackable packaging.
This increases the dimensional weight and the transport costs not inconsiderably.
My initial price research of 850 € was based on this.
best regards

With no inventory and no scheduled production runs in the near future, Im gonna suck it up and pay the shipping. I found new old stock in Germany and ended up with a complete set for under 500 Euro. They are DOT2018 but within the 5 year mark and look to have been stored correctly. They are P Zeros so they will likely only last about 4,000 miles anyway.
Man, AL13 makes a good product!
DOT 2018 is completely o.k. As long as stored dark and cool. In the worst case, the tire becomes very slightly harder.
No disadvantage with a P-Zero either :-)
In Germany a tire can be sold as new, up to an age of 3 years.
If I were you, I would have bought it to at that price.
What did the shipping cost you in the end?
Nice rims. Please weigh before fitting tires.
Kind regards.

At the moment, I am waiting for the 325mm tires to arrive in Bonn. From there I will confirm shipping and the process. Just to be sure about the box requirements, I am going to have my family call the shipping agency you supplied (thank you for that too!). For the US shipping tires into Germany via DHL they don't have a requirement for boxes. And of course that makes a 200 Euro difference in shipping costs, so if I can shrink wrap them instead that would of course be my preference. The box source you provided was cheap enough though, so just in case I ordered the boxes and tire bags to cover all angles.
I should know everything by Tuesday and will share the costs and process by then! In the meantime I will figure out a way to get these wheels weighted!
