Anyone Used Non-MB or Shell DCT Fluid?
I'm with Acta on not using anything other than MB or Shell transmission fluid, but just out of interest, has anyone used another brand like Liqui Moly, Pentosin, Redline, etc? Would love to know if the DCT felt or behaved any differently after doing the drain and fill with any brand other than MB or Shell.

Hi Enj,
OK, after my long diatribe about only using the factory recommended fluids in the transaxle. I did have the same problem as you and everyone else. I will admit I experimented with Motul Multi DCTF. It has been in my DCT for almost a year now. It is the one in the other thread where I showed the application sheet and Motul specifies compatibility with MB 236.25. I cannot report any problems. I don't track my car.
I do have some pretty aggressive sessions on the road, and I do get groceries with my car alot. STILL, I don't recommend it because I have no knowledge in petroleum chemistry and no way to validate this stuff will absolutely do the job. After ONLY almost a year, I STILL have my fingers crossed, but I cannot cross anyone else's fingers for them so I still have to caveat emptor you on this one.
I fought saying this online in the other threads. I know it sounds like double speak, but do not want any doubt I do not recommend this.

You may be able to find other brands which claim their oil meet the specs but only the shell is officially approved by Mercedes. Source:
