The Modalworks stage 2 hybrid turbo (dubbed the MW2) packs a big punch yet looks completely stock from the outside. Our design doesn’t just swap the compressor wheel, but also extensively machines the exhaust side to fit a large 9 blade turbine wheel. Our specific combination of turbine and compressor upgrades make for an extremely balanced hybrid turbo.
These MW2 turbos spool as fast as pure 900s but flow like pure 1000s. This design yields a setup without tons of turbo lag and still packs massive top end power. We have consistently recorded 35+psi on our shop C63 with moderate wastegate duty cycle which translates to big power potential (based on tune and supporting mods).
