GTS ED1 command display problem
My 2016 GTS command display won’t come on and the dealer says the control unit needs replacement. Does anyone know the MB part number? Thanks.

This partnumber have to much digits. Mostly A with 3-3-2-2 Digits

For the GTS there are a whopping 114 (one hundred and fourteen!!!!!) different part numbers for the head unit.
With your FIN you get exactly where you want to go :-)
Since you have an Edition one, you can limit it a bit.
This part numbers should match. -> USA / AEJ 14/1 / Single DVD
A205 900 83 17 replaced by: A205 900 39 19

That part number I posted I got from MBNA parts website.
Even googled it just now and it has same result for the Control Unit which is what he is looking for.

Wow that is impressive! Much appreciated.
Please correct me if I am wrong. If I can get any one of the 6 #s you mentioned or the one quoted by the dealer it should work with a software update.
I will start my search for the most cost effective replacement and take it to a friendly dealer to install/ program it to fix the problem.

I cannot give you any guarantee for this. I can only pick out the numbers for you. I can't check whether these fit 100%. There are already different generations of the HU. Most of the time the part numbers differ only by software. It was no joke that there were 114 different versions for the GT in 2018. And the brand new ones aren't there.
The early HU (Harman, especially with a DVD changer) often had problems. (But rather with the changer mechanism)
Stupid question.
How sure are you that the HU is really defective? What has been checked so far. No display can have several causes. (For example, there is a fuse on the HU, without disassembling you cannot get to it)
Personally, I would try to find the exact error first. If irreparable, get a used, newer number. Or just a really cheap one. The used market is not that big. But thanks to the internet, the world is small.
Second hand.
Remember that you will also need the device code (anti-theft protection). Without this, the HU is not worth that much. (a hacker can do this :-) )

Thanks for the reply.
I sent the car to the dealer and they connected a working HU to the display and it worked. So they concluded that the HU in the car needs replacement. That’s how they fix cars these days!!!
I found a supplier in Germany that sell A2539003206 for $1100 + shipping. They don’t have A2059006834 which the dealer recommended.
i cannot find any used parts on eBay at the moment.
I will keep up my research and search before buying.
Any further info would be appreciated.

The weights of the 2539003206 part is 1.4 kg while that of the 2059006834 part is 2.9 kg. This is very confusing. The 205 part also costs almost 3 times as much.
