2016 Wheel and Tire offsets

Hello everyone,

Another question about tires and wheels. I have posted a link below regarding this. The website mentions they put on a set of 20×9.5 (front) and 21×11.5 (rear) D05 mono-block wheels with a +50 / +55 offset, 66.6 center bore, and 5×112 bolt pattern. Tire recommendations for the front are 245/35/20 or 255/35/20 and 325/30/21 or 325/25/21 for the rear. I would prefer staying with 20's front and 21's rear. The wheels in the picture are not for me but could I go with these numbers on any after market wheel and get same results. I mean the same cosmetic appearance as in the photos? I don't think this car has been lowered or has wheel spacers. I like the look as how the tires sits and the idea of having a 325 rear tire. Any thoughts you all have would be appreciated.

There is a lot to unpack here but let me give it a shot.

tire size:
there is quite a bit of room on these cars to update the wheel size in the back vs the front - the more important aspect will be whatever option you decide on you should keep OD within OEM spec. That is to say your outer sizing of the tire should match the OEM sizing. Tire width is cool and all but most of its hidden under the car and lost to the eye anyway. Wider is generally more expensive too...for example I could fit a 355 on my GTR but from the side, same look as a 325; all I would be missing would be from my wallet - $800 per side in additional cost for a 355 tire....

Front is a little trickier - if I remember correctly the max front tire size with a GT/GTC will be 265 on a lowered car. And, get the offset wrong expect that to rub in turning moves or entering driveways etc. Again you should be measuring everything against matching OEM OD first and then see what your choices will be with a 20" wheel. There are a BUNCH of people that have done this so leverage the community feedback on what will work and what won't.

wheel size:
keep the width in check with the tire width - for example, a 12" wheel width will be a match for a 325. Some of this is taste of course, but at some point a tire size becomes impractical for the wheel. Don't get caught up in 'bigger is better'. Its not

offset:
most custom wheels you pick the offset and they will have recommendations and specs for your car. Generally speaking to get a flush to the fender look, you would add about 15mm to front and rear offsets to do that. Keep in mind, as the wheel gets wider, the math changes. 1010 tires website has a bunch of tools to figure this all out, and companies like Signature, BC, AG etc will already have an ideal spec and some guidance on tolerance changes as you lower your car etc.

The car in the picture is 100% lowered and those wheels have a custom offset. If there are spacers, they aren't doing it right.
