Yep strong AMG presence. Always good to see Engel drive. Too bad Lello is driving LMP2 this round. If you guy haven't, watch their side by side racing in Macau GP last Nov.
Still kind of bummed out Audi GT3s are not represented at rolex this year though they committed 7 cars to downunder for Bathurst 12h.

AMG's were monsters all during the race - Porsche didn't show up!

I'm a Winward Racing fan and it was a shame to see what happened to them from the overall GTD pole, to having to replace the car and start at the back, to being in contention up until the last 30 minutes was rough!

I certainly watched the GTD Mercs and was very happy to see them do well...The obvious MIA was all the GTD Porsche teams, nor Ferrari... none had top speed so I suspect the BoP adjustments will go Porsche"s way and not penalize the other makes ... In one TV view, the GTD WeatherTech Mercedes passed a GTD Porsche in turn 2 like he was a wounded duck... I'm sure the Porsche faithful were depressed...

Heart wrenching to see it...and I was previously a Corvette nut, had many of them I used at the track, best bang for the buck and so seeing them hip check the Winward team after all the effort and success they had was tough.

I do think you need to pay your dues a bit and IMSA needs to be sure that manufacturers are not sandbagging new cars. The AMG GT and others are established and consistent now.
It wouldn't make me very happy to see new cars pop into he mix and immediately be quicker than the existing cars.
We will know when they get the BoP right when everyone is complaining.

Watching the Daytona 24 was the most amount of time I've spent on the couch since Covid. The in-car footage is the best seat in the house! I don't think any of us are surprised that AMG's are doing well in IMSA, no matter who's driving. These are exceptional track cars.
