Carbon Fiber Mirror cap install
Just like everything else we've tackled on this car so far, it's a bit more complicated than planned. Any help is appreciated.
Yes, I found the shop instructions that were posted on another thread. The glassnl is out but it's hard to tell how the housing is removed.
Appreciate any help!
We also installed KW HAS Springs and removed the seatbelts if anyone has any questions while it's still fresh 😁
Here's my thoughts overall on these. They came from RW Carbon. The weave on the driver side mirror was very nice. The passenger side had a small air bubble on the strip that goes between the blinkers and also, the weave around the edges on the front were distorted and stretched looking.
They did send me a new mirror cap to replace the first. The good news is, no air bubble. The bad news is the weave is still distorted and stretched looking and the fitment was worse than the driver side. Mind you, I'm pretty OCD.
My biggest issue has to do with the fitment. I'd give it a 6.5/10. If you dont feel comfortable filing and trimming areas to get the caps to fit better, don't buy them. Even with those methods, the lower black oem part of the mirror WOULD NOT clip to the CF cap. There is interference from the internal mirror parts that prevent fitment. We ended up using methods that wouldn't be my first choice, but 99% of people will never see any issues from the outside.
The blinker lights would also not snap in flush, so that required some extra work as well. Overall, they look nice. At $500/pair, considering what the oem CF mirrors cost, it's not a bad deal. But just be aware they will need work. I'll get some pics later today and add them.

But again, for the price, I think they are worth it as they really do look nice.
The glue that leaked through from the inside.
The main fitment issue. The lower part of the mirror just did not want to "click" onto the mirror cap. The issue had to do with an internal part hitting against the cap. We probably could have ground it down more for a better fit.
