OPINION Needed! Potentially Serious Damage?
Hey guys,
So I'm about to purchase a 2017 AMG GTS. It's only got about 25,000 KM on it so its in pretty good condition. I saw it in person and its in great condition. When I did a professional inspection, they found this wierd water/oil stain on the bottom of the car. They said it's most likely a seal that needs to be replaced and that it's nothing super serious. The labor to replace the part will be about $1500, which is no big deal, I JUST NEED TO KNOW that it's not like a crack in the motor, or something that will cost me $20,000 or more.
Here's the video showing the stain/leak:

Is it possible its something more serious? Or unlikely? I Just need to know if I'm potentially on the hook for something way more expensive
I'm purchasing this vehicle in Latin America, so there aren't too many units of this car, and the owner is being a pain in the *** to work with. He's basically telling me, "take it or leave it" which I guess is understable just because he's a super busy guy. He's being a pain in the butt about doing further diagnostics, etc

That sounds like a solid car overall, especially with such low mileage. Based on what the inspection revealed, a seal replacement is a fairly common fix and not usually indicative of deeper engine damage. You might want to get a second opinion just to rule out any structural cracks. Also, while doing some research, I came across the Medieval-Translator Script Formatter which was quite useful for formatting older text styles — a bit unrelated, but thought I'd share since it's quite interesting if you're into language or writing!
