305/30/20 vs 295/30/20 on a stock GTS?
Question: does this 1cm make a huge difference on a stock 9.5" rim?
295/30/R20 stock Pilot Sports look like this:
You mention 9.5" rim. I thought the GTS rear OEM rim is 10".
The Michelin Pilot Super Sport 295/30-20 necessitates a minimum rim width of 10 inches, while the 305/30-20 demands a minimum of 10.5 inches in rim width. Considering the horsepower, cornering capabilities, and overall performance of the GTS, IMHO, installing a tire that does not snugly fit into the rim is unsafe.

305 at the back... what a difference. I was pissed off that I must trash my 295s (because of local laws - no matter the mileage or condition - 5 year and out), but boy I'm happy I did so... maybe it's because it's new, or maybe I'm trying to justify the expense, but the improvement is very noticeable - ride is so much smoother and there is so much more grip now. From what I noticed there is no difference on the speedometer vs gps indication - as before it's dead on - gps vs dash shows exactly the same at constant speeds (I guess all AMGs in Japanese specs have that?).
I remember having an older Sl, and I ordered the Super sports and they were not XL and they wiggled all over the place.
