My 2023 MB is getting Lemon Lawed so no GT for me

Going to get a GT but not the new AMG GT rather a Continental GT Speed.

Even though I've bought 10 AMGs over the years. I'm still just a number. Company in my opinion has gotten too big and has their hands in too many pies nowadays. I'm done with MB for now.

Here's how it started:https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ler-limbo.html

Long story short. They still can't get the part or even know when it will be available. My state has the: "Must have been out of commission for thirty days or more." Which I fall under.

All of this over a locked up right rear emergency brake caused by an electronic brake module - unbelievable.

MB says in an email to me: "During the review process we will be evaluating the overall repair history and your state’s statute. Our repurchase review process typically takes 6-8 weeks. We will work diligently to process your paperwork as quickly as possible. The title work can take several weeks due to national delays at our DMVs. We appreciate your patience."

So to me the entire process looks like four months until I get a check. I own the car with title in hand. I'm still paying insurance. Paid 10K markup and spent 2K on PPF. From what it looks like I won't be getting reimbursed for the 12K ADM and PPF. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the situation all because of an emergency brake being stuck.

Man..this sucks. Sorry to hear. I would imagine they have a mechanical safety catch or something to unlock the wheel under such circumstances. Did you have the boards when loading up the trailer? Or was that side just dragging?

Well, sorry about your trouble, but glad to hear it's all working out for the better. Man o man, you're going to a fantastic switch to sporty opulence. I wasn't even aware how far Bentley has developed it's line. Congrats to you! I had a fun just picking out options, particularly the fantastic interiors. Cheers!

Under California's Lemon Law you could get either your money back (not sure if that includes ADM) or a replacement vehicle. But it sounds like your bad experience with the car and the Lemon Law process has soured you against AMG GTs. Understandable.

Best of luck.

(One more question - did you do this yourself or did you have an attorney?)

2019 AMG GT
Once it's fixed, the carfax will brand it as a lemon. Resale will be anywhere between 15% to 25% off market price. Some banks may not finance it and CPO may not be offered. Something to keep in mind if anyone decides to purchase it once fixed.

As an option, if OP really likes the car and wants to keep it and the dealer is willing to fix it after the part becomes available, then try to find the part through a dismantler and have an Independent replace it. Same exact thing happened to me on an ML350 with 500 miles a few years back. Not a hard fix BTW. Fyi, many Porsche & MB electronics are made in the Ukraine and maybe why availability is in question.

Good luck OP

Got the ball rolling on my own. See no need for an Attorney at least at this point.

I'll be pressing them for the ADM and insurance premium reimbursement while it sits there. Only thing I'll let slide is the PPF but I may just peel it off since it's mine. A refund is a refund. They can do a clawback with the selling dealer for the ADM that's not my problem. My problem is dealing with this mess and being made whole.

There is no replacement vehicle as 2023 is the last year. Hate to give up the car as it's irreplaceable because of so few 2023s and the spec. If MB can pull their head out and get the car fixed in the next month and offer me a three year extended warranty for my troubles then I may not go through with the buy back. Gorgeous spec with every option except front ceramic brakes/rear side airbags which I didn't want. Here it is at the dealer before delivery. Man I don't want to give this thing up cuz I'm pissed. I'll probably be kicking myself later if I do.

Since I'm not getting the new AMG GT because of having to lemon law my 2023 C63 which gave me a sour (no pun intended) taste in my mouth. I went with something else. I decided against a Continental GT Speed and picked up a Roma instead which is an excellent GT car in it's own right. Been over two months now and my C63 is still at the dealer in limbo. All this over a stuck e-brake. Crazy!

That C63 spec is so special. Sigh.

Good choice, I've been paying them more attention lately.

AMG GT C Edition 50
Hey sorry for your hassle. Been there. I had the first edition Maserati GT back in the day. It was an awesome little car other than the ghost in the machine it had. It would randomly refuse to start. They even sent staff from Italy to try to figure it out. It clearly fell under the lemon law and I was moving toward that and instead called the owner (not the manager) of the dealership and he immediately bought the car back from me and made me whole. I believe that is what should happen in your case. Go to the top. Employees follow rules. Owners make them. If they fail to do the right thing, then employ a "noisy" Lemon Law and move on. Good luck!

Might be for the better, enjoy the new vehicle in good health!

Sadly, someone that were loyal to MB for 43 years also got treated very poorly: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post8915092

Decent spec for sure. Sad that it ended up like that, just glad to hear you are enjoying the new vehicle instead.
