Help! AMG GT Split dust-cover for ball-joint replacement/repair

Hi there,
Really need some help here as I am going out of my mind.
Just had my annual service for my AMG GT 2016 which has done 32,500 miles. Under "advisory" (rather than "must do") the engineer noted that the passenger side front lower ball-joint dust-cover had partially split. Obviously, I'm guessing this will get worse and could lead to more aggravation down the line.
The issue for me is, it's a rubber seal and on other cars would be a few £'s or $'s to fix...but on this beast they are suggesting changing the entire surrounding pieces (I am no expert but have attached a picture) and it looks like costing over £3k ($4k).
Has anyone come across this before, found any type of workaround and can help me start sleeping again at nights??
Be grateful for any advice whatseoever.

The dust cover
