TIRES: contemplating moving to 275/35/19 and 305/30/20 - opinions please
my main question is this: does anyone have experience running 265 front 305 rear vs 275 front 305 rear? curious about the handling/cornering characteristics of the car with each. i intend to use them for canyon carving and spirited driving; likely won't track the car (yet), but looking for a bit more grip vs the stock tires.
appreciate any insight you are willing to share!
big question is: keep general ratio of front to back with move up or leave the fronts at 265 for more turn-in and better handling at lower speeds?
car bought has rear tires with 2016 date codes. (295s) there is no doubt i will replace those and possibly all four.
my question: should i move to a 275 in the front and a 305 in the rear, or keep the OEM spec of 265/295 and simply move to the pilot sport 4S?
i would very much appreciate some input on the implications of sizing before i pull the trigger.
thank you so much!

I don't have direct experience with the GTS, but based on what I've read in various threads on this forum, it seems that pairing R:305/30-20 with F:265/35-19 or R:325/30-20 with F:275/35-19 is generally preferred. That said, I don't think there would be any major issues with R:305/30-20 and F:275/35-19, but some have mentioned that the car's stability control system has a limit on how much speed differential it can tolerate between the front and rear wheels before triggering an error.
I have used R:345/30-20 with F:275/35-19 on both GTC and GTR with no issues. ( 245 probably will not fit GTS)
Also to add: look at the tire compound and temperatures you usually drive in as a more important variable for grip. wider front tires are harder to steer than narrower ones and require more driving efforts. I would use wider on track, but not sure for street / daily spirited driving.
And one last thing: You will need a 10" rim for 275 front

bought the car with nearly new 265 Pilot Super Sports; rears are original 2016 date code tires... i have tow choices now:
1) buy a pair of 305s in Pilot Super Sports and wear them out along with the basically new fronts
2) buy four new tires: 265 fronts/305 rears in PS4Ss, as i hear they are a superior tire
any takers for a final opinion on my path forward? hate to waste the fronts i have now, but i am OK with it if PS4S are significantly better.

for street use what problem are you trying to solve. Just want to go wider, fine go wider.
remember for best performance (ultimate lap time track focus), jamming a wider tire on a skinny wheel won’t help, wider wheel plus wider tire helps.

to answer your question specifically: i am looking for a bit more grip under acceleration. since my last posts, i have come to the conclusion that the fronts at 265 are probably the best answer - but it seems a 305 out back could provide slightly more purchase while still being in-spec for the wheel.
my fronts are date-coded 15/23 and still basically perfect PSSs - the rears are original to the car... i need to replace them: period. so probably go with a fresh set of PSS 305/30R20s for now and then switch all four to PS4S when these show appreciable wear.
thoughts on that approach for now?

i'll retain the two pilot super sports in the front for now and mount a pair of 305s super sports in the rear.
i am sure the 4Ss would be even grippier, but i think the fresh 305s in the super sport will still be a nice upgrade for now.
thanks again!
