Yeah these work really well compared to the Tikt. Dropped couple hundred degrees. Originally Posted by descartesfool

I'm about to start tracking my 2018 GTR and was looking at Tikt ducts. Are they not worth the extra cost over those cheaper $300 deflectors?
I only track the car 5 or 6 times per year. I've come from a McLaren 600LT which ate discs and pads for fun. I was going through CCB pads in 2 days and CCB discs in 8…there's no cooling to the brakes!

I bought and installed the Tikt system on the driver's side and measured the disc temperatures.
The side equipped with the Tikt system was significantly cooler than the side with nothing.
I then installed a homemade aluminum system on the passenger side, and the Tikt system was much warmer.
Next, I compared the Ansix with my aluminum scoop, and the temperatures were similar.
The advantage of the Ansix is that it’s made of plastic, so if it breaks, it won’t damage your car.
However, you need to be careful with the balancing weights; there shouldn’t be any on the inner side of the rim, otherwise, they’ll hit the scoop.
The Tikt system is less efficient than the Ansix, by about 50°C.

Nice comparison! My issue with the Ansix style deflectors is stones being deflected on to the back of the discs. The Tikt ones allow you to put a mesh on the end to minimise debris.Originally Posted by menfou

A lot of F80 M3 guys including myself run Ansix style scoops on the front to keep the temps down. Also GT3s use the plastic scoops as well. It's interesting that you actually tried playing with the Tikt duct and a scoop. Kudos!Originally Posted by menfou

Girodisc wasn’t a fan of the Tikt on my setup. These other ones were cheap to try. Made a big difference. Originally Posted by drroc
