Renntech Warranty

Hey all, not sure how many people are tuning their GTs but just wanted to see if anyone out there ever looked in to Renntech warranty?

a bit pricey around $7k for 7yrs/100,000 and transferable one time in case car is sold.

only reason to consider this is to avoid risking rejections on any possible claims on my CPO and potentially any third party warranty as renntech warranty will cover car even with tune as long as its theirs so just thought id check on the forum if anyones ever had any experience with it? Thanks!

I know it's been awhile but did you hear any thoughts or opinions on this? I'm considering it myself but there doesn't seem to be much experience with people using it

Huge fan of Renntech and their performance capabilities, however I can't find anything on the listed provider of this coverage.

It's on renntech website. They have bumper to bumper comprehensive warranty

Look up Highline's recent commentary on the AMG GT's and decide for yourself. Also look him up on the Porsche 991 GT3 forums and you'll come to the same conclusion.

Renntech's Warranties are stellar.

I saw that, you look up the phone number of the provider and you find a Better Business Bureau page that is empty; Not rated or accredited, and only about 60 days old.

i never got any feedback from a real user and thats not surprising really since itd be a small subset of owners tuning their GTs and then another even smaller subset buying from Renntech.

i did take a look at renntechs sample contract and ultimately decided against it. From what I recall it wasnt an exclusionary contract and the sticking point for me was that they want every aftermarket performance part to be bought from renntech. I already had downpipes and aftermarket intake so wasnt worth it for me but might be worth it for someone whose car is completely stock and who only plans on buying renntech parts.

The sample they sent me recently has it listed as exclusionary if I get their highest level of coverage. My car is stock so I was considering it. I'm not surprised either that there's not a lot of feedback about it but I was hoping there was some just to get some opinions

I actually looked into this over the weekend. It seems like that provider is an affiliate of DOWC (Dealer Owned Warranty Company). That is my understanding (e.g., they have the same address), and so I consider that provider as being no different than DOWC.

Almost all service contracts that I am aware of either (1) exclude modifications from coverage or (2) make ineligible any vehcile that has aftermarket parts. Renntech has effectively convinced the service contract provider to include a "Renntech endorsement" -- Renntech is basically standing behind its parts and it managed to convince the service contract provider to take on certain risks that come with Renntech aftermarket parts.

So, if you plan to modify your car, i dont think you will find a better alternative. If you do, I would like to hear about it

Correct, as an industry it is not encouraged.

As far as I am aware, the Renntech protection plan is the only warranty that has an exclusion for aftermarket parts (albeit only Renntech aftermarket parts). Based on my research, the best next thing for modified cars is a protection plan that has a more limited exclusion for breakdowns "caused by or involving" modifications (versus an absolute disqualifier for vehicles with any modification). Do you agree? Anything I am forgetting or missing? Spent a lot of time on this recently and so trying to make sure I didn't overlook anything.

Is anyone aware of any warranty/protection other than Renntech that isn't against modified cars?
