Got a warning message that air pressure was low in front tire by 1psi. Got home and added a little air and waiting to see what happens. Got me thinking, what if I need to repair it. How do I lift the car.. where do I lift it from.. A few months ago I ordered the hockey pucks with the nipple but never looked to see where they go. I looked at my floor jacks and I don't believe they will fit under the car.. I started looking at the online manual and it shows lifting the car with a scissor jack that comes with the car? I thought great.. they provide a low profile type jack. Then it talked about some cars having this TIREFIX system which of course my car has. Does that mean I don't get a jack? I purchased the car used so I don't know what comes or didn't come with the car. The manual also showed two lift points on each side of the car. In another section it talked about one lift point in the center of the car? While searching the storage area I found the TIREFIX system and I also found what's in the picture. What is this? I read something about a tow ring? Is that what this is? Manual said the tow ring inserts/screws into through the grill but I don't see anyplace to do this. There is also indents in the foam where something else would store. Am I missing a part that goes with the one in the picture? I know I'm probably asking too many questions in this one thread but it is all somewhat related. Appreciate any help.. Thanks.

Yes, it's the tow hook. Manual explains how to install it.

For jack points, you will find the circular rubber points under the floor running board. The main trick is to find a low profile jack that is low enough, which also has sufficient rubber to avoid messing up the body work when lifting the car.

Has anyone ever installed the tow eye? Wondering what it's like popping out that piece in the grill. I didn't want to try it until I learn more about how it's done. Something worth knowing for sure just in case.

You just have to pull extra hard on the special grill piece and it comes out.

Thanks
I just check my jacks and they are low profile and slid under the frame. https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-...een-64784.html

Didn't have all that much room but it did go under. I didn't have time to test it with the hockey puck in place. I found the part of the frame with the indent where the nipple of the hockey puck would rest. That would lift both tires on one side. Would you still use the hockey puck on those rubber points to lift just the front or back or is that not advised to do? Those Rubber points don't stick down that far. Looks like where the arms of a 4 point lift would use?

Yea I think I should wait until I REALLY need to use it. I can see in the manual where that special grill piece is located BUT they all look the same. I know my luck. And do you pull it out towards you or pop the hood and pull it out from the back. Not even sure you can reach the grill from under the hood.
Something else to explore.

You should see a square cut out if you look carefully. And, yes, you just pull it straight out, though it needs a bit of elbow grease. Just be careful not to yank too far as there's a hanger strap attached to it that's meant to let you leave the insert hanging while you have the tow hook on.

Thanks. I looked at it today. I saw the little plastic strap attachment which was very helpful. I couldn't see how to remove the square and then I realized you don't pop out the little square. You grab the fin portion and basically 2 squares come out. Was pretty easy after doing it once.. :-)

Thanks for the help!
