Dear AMG'S,

I am looking for buying a used 2020 28k miles amg gt. I have heard that transmission might not very reliable when the miles go higher than 30k. Or is there any other things that I need to worry about! Thank you guys so much!

Mine has about 23k on my 2020 GTC. No issues so far.

I might suggest if you test drive the car TEST DRIVE THE CAR! Drive it hard. Drive on both smooth and rough surfaces. Find any maintenance and service records you can.

Hey Bruce, Thanks for the reply. I am trying to find PPI like Lemon Squad to inspect the car. Have you heard any issue from 2020 models?

Personally, no. My son had an issue with his 2016 AMG GTS. Doing 70 on highway, punch it and it studders downshifting each gear until it finds the right gear and you’re off. No codes. Other than, no issues.

By the way, how many miles does your son's GTS have now? There hasn't been any issue with it not engaging gears? I did owned a C63S before, somehow the transmission RPM is unstable. So I swap a new transmission. This make my curious about the transy ability for GT.

He sold it after two years and made 7k… He then asked us to test drive the GTC here in Houston. He lives in SC. We test drove the snot out of it. He bought it. Kept it a year and sold it to my wife. Her 2020 C63S coupe wasn’t fast enough.

Mine just turned 24,000 miles. I only bought it two months ago. I guess the best advice would be to make sure that it has a good history. If it was well maintained, you have a better chance of not having problems. If you're going to do a pre-purchase inspection I think you should probably go to a Mercedes dealership that might be familiar with his car.
Maybe post a link to the car. Possibly somebody here on the forum may have owned this car.

I'm about 38K now and no problems to report. I routinely floor it, just to experience that thrill these cars provide, & it shifts flawlessly. I've kept up with the maintenance, which is key.

2020 GTC with over 44K miles. No issues whatsoever. Just make sure to do transaxle service at 30K miles and every 30K miles thereafter.
