AMG GT Coding

Is it possible to code out the brake assist on a GT? Or turn it off by default instead of on?

Also, can the seat belt tensioning (PRE-SAFE is it called?) be disabled? If I am driving some mountain passes with tight hairpins the car things I am going to crash so it tries to choke me as I am about to turn. Happened several times in Switzerland last week and is infuriating.

Thanks

Great thread. I will add to this.

How about the ability to put the GT in Neutral without turning the engine on.

I'd definitely prefer coding it out than sticking that on the car every track day. Doesn't solve the seatbelt tightening and trying to choke me either

IIRC it's off in race mode, and i THINK you can turn it off in sport+ through the dash menu?

This was already addressed by @srO_Michael_Orz in a previous reply to your same question that you posted in a different thread

Would be nice if we could get some precise measurements on where to cut in the Right mid-trunk

Brake assist and seat belt choking is off when I turn TC off and use the dial. But when I forget to turn it off, or want to use Sport+ in the mountains, the seatbelt crap is still on. And I have to manually turn brake assist off every single time I start the car.

A friend is sending me his diagnostics kit which includes Xentry and Star software so I’ll have a play around and try to code them out myself.

Yes, this is easy to code. BenzNinja (Peter) can help you with this. Google him.

Yes, his website looks sketchy. But he's legit

Actually it does. On a base GT you can’t fully defeat the accident avoidance system. Damn lawyers. The auto-braking and seatbelt grab are triggered together.

It is very unsafe and annoying on the track agreed.

From the GT-S owner manual (you could read it once in a while!)

ESP ® is only deactivated if the warning
lamp is lit continuously.

To deactivate ESP ®
: press button 1 (the 3rd button down the console's left side)
The ESP ® OFF warning lamp in the
instrument cluster lights up. The OFF
message appears in the multifunction dis-
play.

To activate ESP ® : when SPORT handling
mode is activated or ESP ® is deactivated,
press button 1

The ESP ® OFF warning lamp in the
instrument cluster goes out. The ON
message appears in the multifunction dis-
play.

Characteristics when ESP ® is deactivated
If ESP ® is deactivated and one or more wheels
start to spin, the ESP ® warning lamp in
the instrument cluster flashes. In such situa-
tions, ESP ® will not stabilize the vehicle.

If you deactivate ESP ® :

ESP ® no longer improves driving stability.
engine torque is no longer limited and the
drive wheels are able to spin.

The spinning of the wheels results in a cut-
ting action for better traction on loose sur-
faces.

traction control is still activated.

ESP ® still provides support when you
brake.

COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST is no lon-
ger available
, nor is it activated if you brake
firmly with assistance from ESP.

PRE-SAFE ® is no longer available, nor is it
activated if you brake firmly and ESP ®
intervenes.

I've spoken to a few people and it looks like I should be able to have the brake assist coded out, PRE-SAFE seatbelt tightening coded out, and convert KPA to PSI for TPMS.

I know running TC OFF in the GTR disables the brake assist and PRE-SAFE, but sometimes I forget to switch it off coming out of the pits, or on a mountain pass I leave the car in SPORT which keeps the seatbelt choking active, which is extremely annoying.

Are belt-tightening and auto brake triggered simultaneously or they act at different levels of collision proximity? In other words how do I know if auto brake works? I don’t track the car but the belt tightening alone happened a few times without auto brake. Should I run the car through a big paper panel?

With Renntech HHT. You can deactivate it and reactivate back.
