Wheel Fitment Questions Please

Hi all, yes, another wheel fitment thread.

Picked up a '16 GT-S. I'm new to the platform and am trying to figure out aftermarket wheel sizing... I was respectful enough to search and read through most of threads I could find on custom wheel specs/fitment.

I'm about to order a set of wheels and tires and of course, I don't want to screw it up. Any help here would be appreciated.

If you're in the know, will you please chime and LMK if the below specs look like it'll work? The car will be lowered a bit (but not slammed) on Weistec coil overs.

I want to stay with 19/20:
- Front: 19x9.5 (48)
- Rear: 20x11.5 (56)

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires
- Front: 275/35/19
- Rear: 315/30/20

Or should I really be considering something else? I'm open to anyone's experience and ideas, of course.

THANK YOU very much.

I guess the few who know seldomly frequent this site, or are tired of fitment threads, or are tired of newbie questions.

It seems the specs I found work well, according to several threads (and one guy who swears by fitment and included pics of multiple cars) but "flush" is also a bit subjective. To be safe, I'll just back it off a couple (or a few) ET's and call it a day. They will be flush enough.

My C8 Z06/Z07 car with carbon wheels are sunken in on the rear (no spacer solutions available at all) and after lowering, they don't bother me. A few ET's conservative on the GT-S won't likely bother me either.

Pic for effect.

Sorry about that.
Definitely a different fitment issue. I’m kinda new to the AMG at this point. I’ve only had it about seven months.

By the way, how do you like the Z06? Interesting combination of cars. It’s nice to have choices.

I have 315/20 ET 68 on the rear and 265/19 ET 62 on the front (factory rims). You will have no issue with your choices and you will be happy with “flush” lines. It is my daily driver most of the year except the winter (now) when I use 245/19 front and rear. I do not track the car so I don’t need wider than 315. Generally too wide on the front makes steering more difficult but yours being 10 mm wider should not be a problem.
Forum members are generally very responsive but I believe the forum may have been down for maintenance beginning of the year, there were no posts for a few weeks.

All good man, again thanks for the reply and attempt to help.

I'll share my experience, although perhaps more than what you asked for. I came out of built 911 Turbo's and was out of cars for a couple of years. Finally getting back into cars and looking at the options in the preferred price range, the Z06 rises to the top. For my price range at the time, the options were 570s (not an "older" Mac fan), 991 Turbo S (done that), 991 GT3 (no power), R8 (great cars but they just don't do anything for me), AMG GTR (was an option I highly considered) but I decided to go the flat plane crank, N/A route with the Z06. With mods, it's sitting around 700hp. It's a beast of a car in the right rev range but you have to drive it more like a Porsche GT car. Handling is impressive, although steering lacks some feel. Brakes are good but not as good as Porsche PCCB's. They can take even longer to warm up and work and you can have that "no brakes" pucker factor if you're not careful. After going from Cup 2 R's to Pilot Sports, it is an even better street car. The Cup 2 R's were shot at 6k miles and absolutely sketchy on the CA roads. Changing tires on the wide, carbon wheels is EXPENSIVE. I spent $700 on tire changing service! Insane. The shops that will actually touch them, charge an arm and a leg. $150-200 per wheel!

Anyhow, with a titanium cat back, the motor sounds epic and it is pretty much all the "drama" of an exotic Lambo/Ferrari, at 1/4 the price (minus the exclusivity/prestige). A lightly used, fully optioned out Z07 package is the way to go. The guy before me paid $170k + $50k over! Crazy.

We have other cars for the daily's -- the Z06 and GT are weekend cars.

I may get rid of the Z06 though, as I've had it for a year and enjoyed it. With a lot of new Corvette products hitting the market, it can't bode well for the depreciation on all the C8 Z06's that are out there. I am probably going to off it now and wait to upgrade to another 992 Turbo S (although the Porsche tax/pricing these days is asinine), or jump into a Huracan Perfamonte (values are holding).

Anyhow, like all my cars, I'll definitely miss the Z06 -- it is a true supercar in every sense and that LT6 motor is the reason I went back to GM. If I were still a track guy, it would also be on the top of my list.

Thank you man! Understand -- I'm also used to the much more busy rennlist and corvette forums. This appears to be a less busy site....

Thanks for the in-depth answer. I have a very good friend that has a z06 which I have driven. It is a great car. I considered buying one before I bought my AMGGTC. I also have a 911 turbo S. Love the combination. I drive them all year round as I don't believe in leaving my car sit. I have two sets of wheels/tires for each. The Porsche is the superior car for sure. Although there's some things I really like about the GTC as well.
Again, thanks for the reply.

Nice! Epic stable you've got there. Beautiful combo, Yeah, the 911 Turbo S was hands down, the best car I've ever owned. I did the full upgrade path, tuned for 100 octane, minus upgrading the turbos. It was a BEAST. I wish I never sold it. Yeah, the 911 is a better car...

Enjoy man.

Yeah, that car must've been fun. The wheels on that car are great. Those cars get off the line so well.
I had a similar car, Carrera white over red. The car was really so fantastic. I just got the upgrade bug. I had it for 5 1/2 years. It was almost 9 years old when I traded it in. It had almost 60,000 miles. Never had an issue with it. I was the third owner and did nothing but oil changes every year.

Nice car! Everyone has different definitions of “flush”
just wanted to share my specs so you have something to considered. Many will say I’m on the aggressive side. I had zero rubbing ( I say had bc I since have added 5mm all around).
im running
20x10 et 47
20x12 et 60

I have since then added 5mm all around and only experience running in the rear when i hit big dips. I hope this helps
