Page 34 in the DTM media guide (available in DE/EN via https://media.mercedes-benz.com/arti...8-8f9d3d132956) states:
---
On 24 March 2026, Mercedes-AMG announced that the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT, which had been unveiled back in July 2025, would serve as the technological basis for two new models: the new Mercedes-AMG GT3 (the car with red accents) and the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (the car with green accents). The Black Series (X192) serves as the homologation basis for the racing car.
With this project, Mercedes-AMG is pursuing a clear goal: uncompromising performance at the highest level – both on the racetrack and on the road. Whilst the new GT3 is set to continue the successful customer racing history and set new standards, AMG is simultaneously working on the most extreme Black Series ever.
Both vehicles are currently undergoing an intensive development and testing phase. Since 2025, prototypes have been extensively tested on various race tracks, including the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Given that this will be the basis for the next generation of GT race cars, I'm guessing there's some hope that we may get a road-going AMG GT that doesn't weigh in at over 4K lb. Yay!?
