Darn detailers...
I've removed badging in the past, but this one has me
When I purchased my used E, it had pinstriping that was done by some hoity-toity outfit back east (BklynBenz probably knows of them...he seems to have his finger on everything back east!) and while the pinstriping itself reflects excellent work, they also put their own flat applique "signature" and logo on the back of the car -- which looks horrible, not only in my opinion but everyone else, too. (I was going to attach a pic, but then realized I don't have any...they're hideous enough that I edit them out of every pic I take of the back end of the car!) The problem is that I can't even begin to remove the sig and logos; it's almost as if they clear-coated over them (usually you can find an edge, but not on these). Hairdryers, credit cards, plastic putty knives...they just glide right over the top.
Is it possible that the detailers did use clearcoat over pinstriping, logos, etc.?
If so, how can I get them off without trashing the finish? Would a mild polishing compound work?Anyone ever run into this before?
Thanks in advance for any insight or direction you can provide, and enjoy your rides,

Greg
