To paint or not to paint
I had one replace on my 05 SL600, the first time I should them imperfections after imperfection and these guys according to the dealer were supposed to be the BEST.
My new SL600 had a damamged bumper, someone ground down on it with a buffer for some reason, in some light conditions it looks fine in others it stands out like a sore thumb. They should pictures of it to the head of their detailing department and he said he could fix it but it would not be perfect. if you looked hard enough you would be able to tell. They have since done a dealer trade for another SL and are going to take the bumper off it and put it on my car. The only acceptable solultion in my opinion. It also shows me the character of the dealership. It was the right thing to do.
How can you misspell such an easy word twice? You would think someone driving an SL600 would know how to spell basic words! Amazing!

Instead of should I meant to type showed, I don't think that was to hard to figure out.

This guy can spell with the best of' em, I'd bet, but couldn't find his *** with both hands and a flashlight when it comes forum etiquette.
With that... regarding the painting, I would NOT paint the bumper at this time. However, I would reserve the right to have it done at a later date. Given they will spray the entire bumper anyway, why not get a little mileage out of the existing paint first? Smash some bugs, chew some gravel, you know? Then, in a few months when you have a nick here and a flake there...? THEN get it painted.
