Not to interject a supercilious question -- but would it help if you had your 115 lb girlfriend jump on the hood of the car nekid in a fur coat in between any of those coats and thrash around on her back like a monkey in heat? 'Cause I've always wondered (and maybe if you said yes I could print it out and qoute it to her 'cause I keep asking her and she says that it's a silly idea, but I tell her no, Honey I'm serious - it's a good idea - it will really help to lay down a smooth high sheen layer before the next coat which is the whole idea behind this coat)....
You lost me with the sixth interim coat of Xenon XG109....I take mine to a detailer!

If you need/want to strip existing wax, wash the car with Dawn dish soap.

No need to remove existing wax if applying the same. If you are a Zaino user or using another product over the existing coat, that's when it's ideal to strip the existing wax with detergent to begin a fresh new coat.
Claying strips wax anyway, so I doubt you'll have to worry about washing with Dawn.

As for claying, I really don't think you need to clay your car that often (unless you show your car). I normally clay my car when I first bring it home, and then again maybe 18-24 months later. I do strip my car (using a Dawn Wash) and apply 3 coats of Zaino about once a year though. Whatever kind of product you are using, if you are not getting the type of deep shine that you once got, you might want to think about stripping and starting over.
Also, don't get confused between the terms "Polish" and "Wax". Often times they are used to mean the same thing, but they are very different. The basic difference is that polish normally has an abrasive compound in it. There are exceptions to this such as Zaino which calls itself a polish but is really not.
For the most part, you can wax over a polish, but not the other way around. Zaino of course is an exception as it's made to be used independently.

First Time Zaino User
Just used Zaino for the first time last week. I'd have to say I like the product. Rather easy to use and the results look even better in person.
