awsome wax, hope the pix show it..

I just applied meguiars newest nxt tech wax and love the results! Completely hid those fine cobweb like scratches, and left a very deep shine. When you look at the car, you look into the paint again. Looks like I used a buffer, but no, just hand waxed it. I tried meguiars medallion recently and found that it seemed to have burned off in the sun in just 1 day! (then I found out that one is discontinued) wonder why.. anyway, awsome wax. I tried duragloss leather cleaner and conditioner and it did really well too. The conditioner is a paste and did not settle in the stitching or the perforations of the leather! The cleaner is a spray on and doesnt leave anything, even the wood, slimy. Decent stuff. Love the wax!

Looks Great!

I just got the same NXT wax but I still need to use it on my ML. I'm just waiting for this rain to end in the east coast. The weather is looking good for this weekend for a much needed car wash.

Good job with the car. I have been using NXT for a bit now and love it. I have Black opal and its the only wax that really makes it shine. Glad to see it does the same on silver. I do prep the paint with a coat of scratch x and it makes the shine even deeper and hides the imperfections with the paint.

Question ScratchX

The tube claims to safely remove:

Light Scratches & Swirls
Oxidation & Blemishes
Bonded Contaminants

Supposedly Clear Coat Safe too.

Also says "ScratchX is the most effective way to remove fine scratches and swirls from your paint by hand". It further says "For durable high gloss, immediately follow with an application of Meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat Car Wax". I've tried the liquid version of this and thought it was hard to apply/remove. I bought some, and plan to use, the paste.

I wonder if any of the Porter-Cable users have tried ScratchX with those?

let me know how the NXT holds up for you. i used that stuff one week, and when i washed the car the next, most ALL the wax washed off. the car almost looked like what it did before i waxed it. hardly any water beading and the paint was not "slippery" anymore. i used a very minimal amount of soap as well.

i'll have to agree that the shine and depth from the NXT was pretty damn impressive-while it lasted.

.so it's been a couple of weeks and we've gotten alot of rain the past few days. Before that it was really hot. The NXT is holding up nicely. Water is still beading up and rolling off like I just waxed the car. I'm pleased..supposed to be a scorcher of a weekend..I'll rewax maybe, and see what the paint feels like after two weeks.

..bear in mind the car commutes down the highway about 20 miles a day, and maybe it's just me, but it seems to be staying cleaner. Usually one trip in the rain on the highway and it's dirty regardless of wax.

I used the wax recently and loved it. Easy to use, great finish.

But it did seem to wear off quickly.

Please keep the updates coming.

Roy,

It really doesn't matter. NXT has a good look but the durability is pretty bad for a sealant. If you are looking for over the counter products I would recommend Duragloss 105 maintained with Duragloss Aquawax. Both of these end up being the same price as NXT but the durability and look is much better.

Duragloss is a little harder to find though.

NXT wax

I used it today on my new 2008 GL450. I really like the fact it didn't leave white marks on the black plastic and it had a really nice shine to it. Let's see how long it lasts. Picture attached. Others are in the gl forum already

I have been using NXT for 2 months now and I must say it's the worst wax I have ever used. Granted, the deep gloss it gives is great but once you wash it you must reapply. My only guess is that climate I live in (Wilmington, NC) is not suited for that type of wax. I have now switched to Menzerna FMJ and Natty's red per Greg@detailedimage so I'll let you know the results in a couple months.

Hey, from the little thumbnails posted it looks good.

For use buff and shine enthusiasts, can I recommend photo hosting at photobucket or something? The little thumbnail pics don't do justice to your work.

My opine on NXT is so-so. easy to apply, gives the shine, but I wish it lasted longer.
