Will gas affect the paint?

Any info on if gasoline affect the paint. If it does not, may be we can use it to remove some tar, gum etc...

gass can take any wax or zaino off the paint, but i think the clear coat will still be ok. But i would not use it for tar or gum, you can try a little WD-40, but wash it after and it can still remove your wax, so do this with care.

Gasoline will kill your paint. Please DO NOT USE THIS. Use products that are made specifically for clear coats. If you want to remove tar, etc, then use a reputable product from One Grand, Eimann Fabrik, Meguiars, etc.

Gasoline? Come on, you gotta be kidding me?

WD-40? Are you serious? On your paint?

If you EVER get gas on your paint I would recco cleaning it asap. When I go to the gas station I always fold a paper towel and hold it underneath the nozzle b4 I pull it out to avoid getting any drops onto my paint. Have you ever noticed how alot of older cars rust around the gas cap? Now you know why.

WD-40 actually works great as a tar and grease remover. Must be the kerosine in it. Make sure to wash it all off afterwards with some water though....

Yeah I have never used it but i do know people who spray it WITH CARE on tar and other things. Since it is basic it can lift things like bugs and tar off the paint.
