Leather Products Question

I am going to go away from the watered down Lexol products and am thinking of using Connolly Leather products.

Was wondering what you guys have been using to treat your leather and where is the best place on the web (or in town, Md/Va/DC) to get them.

Also, does the C32 leather have a coating on it?

TIA

For leather I really like the Leatherique Prestine Clean. This will clean and condition the leather and leave it soft yet durable. This is the best leathe product I have used in my personal and professional experience I use this about four times a year and the leather looks fantastic. If you want to protect your leather I use the 303 Protectant. It leaves a nice coat of protection on the seat that isn't slippery.

We sell these products at Detailed Image and can ship to you in 1 - 2 business days. We also offer a 10% discount to all MB World members when you use the code "10offMBW".

Two products I enjoy using (from the 7 I've used in the past) are:

1) Adam's Polishes Leather Conditioner
2) Poorboy's Leather Stuff

Both are water-based products (which is good) and contain mild cleaners. The Adam's product has SPF 65 in it if I remember correctly, so that is especially important on a darker colored dash. It's also a little on the thicker side, more like a lotion, so it is much easier to apply without getting it all over the stuff you don't...and if you do get it on the trim, it wipes right off with a MF towel without smearing all over. The leather smell is a nice touch as well.

Note: Connolly Hide Care (formally Hide Food) does nourish the leather, but it’s formulated mainly with lanolin (sheep wool fat). It’s a natural product which in some ways mimics the leather's own oils. The trouble with lanolin is that, along with other oils such as; petroleum, mineral, neat foot, it can encourage rotting of leather fibres and stitching, and any dirt that is driven in is trapped by the greasy lanolin, which abrades the fibres. This product may not be compatible with covered leather and could damage the urethane.

i was wondering about this myself. on my other cars, i use leatherique which works great and really can bring back some old stiff leather. the problem is, i'm not sure how you treat the perforated seats on the cls because i don't want the product to go into the seat and mess with the ventilated seat motors.

if your car doesn't have the perforations, go with www.leatherique.com

I am planning on using leatherique and I do have perforations. I am going to just hit that area a little lighter than the rest.

Yea its fine to do those areas with Leatherique because the edges of the holes need the cleaning and conditioning as well. Just go a little lighter as you stated and it works great.

Here's another solid vote for Leatherique.

I think Larry Emmons (emmonscoachworks.com) has the best pricing and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to restoration and hides.

I'm also going to suggest wearing gloves when using the RO.

Prestine Clean serves as a conditioner AND cleaner. Read up before doing any work - - their theories on leather care are contrary to many others.
