Foam pads/ Dewalt Polisher
#2
Before purchasing that buffer, I just want to make sure you've used or are ready to practice with a rotary buffer. Rotary buffers require a good amount of practice before being used in the polishing/compounding process. With a skilled user its an effective tool, but with a novice it can be quite dangerous. Just want to make sure you have the right tool for the job. Typically weekend detailers and consumers use orbital buffers like the Porter Cable 7424.

Thanks Greg for the concern, i have used the Random orbital pc for a few years, want to move on to something else. Do you recommend the Dewalt or the Makita? and which foam pads? ( i currently have the orange and white foam pads from my pc)
Thanks Greg
ps. are you in 8 feet of snow? shall we come dig you out, lol

Glad to hear you're aware of what a rotary involves. Both of those rotaries are very good, I have a Makita but both work fine. As for pads I'm not sure who has good pads for Rotaries. You can use the pads from the PC, but there are some other options that will work better.
Thanks for the offer, we actually have no snow. Its been a very mild winter for this part of NY (knock on wood).
