Do you tip after a detail, and if so how much? I had two of my cars done for 360 dollars, and had 3 of my friends get tints and details and plan on bringing more business to the owner next week. I was told 20 bucks, and then I was told to pay nothing, just not sure if it is the standard 20%.... Thanks

Tips are totally optional in my opinion. It's a great way to thank the detailer, especially when they've done great work. It's also encourages the detailer to go the extra mile for you but offers no guarantees. I don't think there is any set amount you should tip the person but anywhere from $10 - $30 was the norm for me, which varies everywhere. I had a customer who used to tip me $100 when I did his cars. While I always try my best he always got my absolute best effort. I never take offense when someone doesn't tip me, but it's greatly appreciated. In short, it's a very nice gesture if you can, but not mandatory.
