Air Wand
Has anyone used the air wand to dry their car? I've thought about it, and it seems pretty neat. What's the real difference between using a leaf blower and the air wand? I'm tired of using 4-5 microfiber towels just dry it. Is there any other tools besides towel and air wand?

Vehicle Drying:
The Air Wand is a high-velocity air nozzle that blows air up to 200 M.P.H. to remove water, from surfaces and hard-to-reach areas. The Air Wand greatly accelerates nature's drying action with no adverse effects to existing fragile finishes and delicate surfaces. You no longer need to use old towels and elbow grease to care for your prized vehicles. Simply attach the Air Wand to the blower and dry the vehicle paint in a fraction of the time and effort - http://www.airwand.com/description.htm

Just checked out air wand. I think it looks pretty neat, basically it is a modified leaf blower with a flexable tube for easy maneuver around for drying a car. Pricing is a bit expensive tho...

None of the above. I have a Metro Air Force Blaster http://www.metrovacworld.com/Shoppin...ame=Car&page=1
I bought mine for my bike, but use it for my cars. It is filtered air, somewhat heated - no residue and no opportunity for debris. The fittings are all neoprene, so no scratching. And though it's one of their smaller units (meant for bikes) it delivers air at over 300mph.
I absolutely love it.

I can second that! ^^ What a great invention! It removes water from all the nooks and crannys like emblems, moldings, inside door jams, under hood, wheels. I spend about 10 minutes removing all traces of water. Highly recommended!!

Before the blower, I use a water blade (never had any scratches from it) and
an artifical chamois from Griot's.

I (can) only use towels since the water here needs to be physically removed off the vehicle or it leaves spots. I am working on a filteration system for washing my cars; something inline and effective. Though my Benz is garage parked, my other cars are parked in my drive and in the summer my sprinklers play havoc with the paintwork. It is hard work cleaning the stuff every weekend. Now I cannot use conventional filters for my sprinklers (I have around 75 sprinkler heads and too much water flow) so I am looking for something commercial, something affordable.

Thanks. Though I will look at these specifications, I am considering a much larger setup as a permanent installation in my basement and prepared to go a little more in overall cost.

I use Quik detailer only if the car has extremely minor dust residue. Anything significant, like driving through a rain storm and mud on the paintwork; I would only wash the mud off and will never risk anything else.
