Touch Up Pens

Hey guys, I decided to start a new thread about it here so it'll be easier to focus on the subject.

Here is one site that I found. They even have a pen for Brilliant Silver. Just do a search in 2001 for Mercedes Benz vehicles. They've got a ton of colors.

Each pen costs $16.99 plus shipping and handling.

thats very interesting! i just got a touch up paint kit from MB and it consists of two parts - the paint and the clearcoat like layer (2 bottles). if you ask me, its just repackaged fingernail polishes! it cost $18!

anyway, i'd appreciate any comparisons w/ the pens. the color was easy to find - 345 japisblau? but i couldn't find the clearcoat pen.

MB Touch up paint

I believe that only the metallic colors come with a separate clear coat vial. My paint code, Black 040, only came with one vial of black paint, no clear coat. When I asked my dealer's parts department about this they said that Mercedes only includes a separate clear coat on metallics.

Check out EastWoodCompany.com, they have touhup pens for 12.99 for 6 of them. You fill them with the paint of your choice. I would imagine that any touchup pen filled with water based car paint would eventually dry up. Just a thought, If you keep it in the fridge it will stay moist longer. I do this when house painting and hate cleaning the roller so I wrap in plastic wrap and stick it in the fridge.
