cleaning behind the grill

how should i go about cleaning behind the grill. essentially, this area of the car:

i was thinking vacuum cleaner, then just using a moist towel, pick up the dirt and other nasty things not picked up by the vacuum cleaner. anybody think this will cause harm in any way?

Hi

While the engine is cold , I usually spray it with water top to bottom not straight in the face of the radiator.
you could also use a brush.

Im a local detailer in NY. I would say try to get at it with a fine toothbrush which will help loosen it up a little.
