Removing Swirl marks with Talcum Powder

So i heard you can remove swirl marks with talcum powder, I am not a professional detailer so excuse my in-expertise. I just thought it was an interesting concept and see how it worked out.

Toothpaste -Talcum Powder

Talc and cornstarch were often used to polish single stage paint (long before CC/BC) chrome or gold plated fittings and just like modern polishes you can adjust its abrasiveness by the coarseness of the applicator used.

This was long before detailing specialist products were available
