i have some rock chips on my hood from over the years. I've bought the MB touch up paint (brilliant silver) from my dealership, but whenever i touch up the chips, the color never matches and over time, the paint in the chip goes to a light grey and the clearcoat kinda just dissapears.

anyone have suggestions on how to do a good touch up job? I just don't want some of the chips to start rusting, tho I do wax my car about once a month to sort of thwart off that. thanks.
