Tinted Taillights
I had my taillights tinted this past weekend by a VW guy -- the "redness" of the lenses were too much for me, but I didn't want an ultra dark tint job. I asked him to tint them "just enough to take the edge off." I think he did a great job, let me know what you think.
Before:
After:
After with brake lights (you can see how bright they still are):
If you like, and you want to do this, let me know and I'll put you in touch with this guy. He's based in NYC, so if you're local, all you'd have to do is swing by his house in Staten Island. Otherwise, you'll have to ship your taillights to him. He charges approximately $65 for this work, which includes the tint, as well as a clearcoat for glossiness and protection.

well, i'd have never thought about doing something like that but it does look like a quality job!
how do you feel about the new passat taillights? if you like those, i guess you could have yours replaced w/ them?

Heheh...those ARE my tail lights.
Actually, I like them a lot. They really take the edge off the OEM red lenses, yet they still let a lot of light pass through -- you don't to have to worry that someone behind you won't see your brakes light up.
