MB "New" Leather Smell
I was wondering if anyone out there know if it's possible to get the "new" MB leather smell. I'm sure their leather was treated before installation. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks!

i do not know how to get the smell back, but i still have the smell since delivery (which was 1.5 years ago, 26k miles). the smell is like some sort of leather cleaner, not Meguires, but some other semi-cheap type. at least that is what my olfactory bulbs suggest.

~One man’s opinion / observations ~
Groit’s Leather Cleaner (a good maintenance cleaner) will provide a ‘leather’ smell or you could try their Leather Car Scent
~Hope this is of some help~

People, what you are smelling, sniffing and breathing in as that "new car smell" is actually solvents and adhesives "gassing out". These are known as "VOC's" (Volatile Organic Compounds) and this is what causes that ugly film on your glass.
Your car is always "gassing out", especially after a run to Taco Bell, and the newer cars can actually cause headaches and nausea in some people.
So in reality what you are all desiring to breath is rotting solvents and adhesives, yummy eh?

new w211
recently at dlr, i sat in newly-arrived e500. smelled like i was in a freshly-painted closed room. no like!
they might have just gotten the car onto the floor that day, and its got to wear off i guess, but it was overwhelming.
btw, best smelling car i ever had was my w202 sport pkge. reminded me of fresh coffee. (and not from a spill.) and stayed that way for a few years, as long as car was kept clean.
my w210 is a little fishy in comparison. i heard MB leather smell was thought to be reminiscent of 'seaweed' in some magazine comparo a few years back.

I noticed that my local Mercedes Dealership sells a product called "Lexol" so I figure why not give it a try...
It does leave a rich leather smell, but it doesn't last for too long. I usually apply it once a month... Will start applying it once a week from now though...
But again, the Lexol in the 'gold' bottle is the best choice.

yeah i usally use Lexol the lexol cleaner first which comes in a orange bottle then the brown bottle which is a leather conditioner.
The good thing about lexol is that it keeps the leather looking normal not all wet shine looking.
