Users who work at an MB Dealership

Do you know or could you find out what the dealerships use to clean wheels? Numerous cars that go to the dealer with year old brake dust is able to be easily removed by the dealer but impossible using "specialized" wheel products found at auto part store.

A name of the product would be great, along with a place to pick it up.

Thanks in advance,
Lowell

i THINK they use the meguiar's wheel cleaner that meguiar's made special for MB.
it comes in the $100 Mercedes Benz car care kit, with the 10 or so cleaning products around a bucket for cleaning? i may be wrong though . . .

Thanks for the idea, we've tried the special MB wheel cleaner that they sell at the dealers, which is really just Meguiars but repackaged and repriced (read: higher priced) in the MB packaging. Doesn't really do a great job, usually when you take your car in for service dealers are able to get the wheels looking brand new, no matter how filthy they are. They must use some industrial strength product to do this and I would like to know what it is.

Thanks

mb dealers wheel cleaner

the stuff we get is nothing other than aluminium siding cleaner, but i must caution you, in the wrong hands bad things can happen, delaminating of wheel finish, greying of brake calipers, and serious brake squeal. we always let car sit over night to cool down, first thing in the morning spray it on, use a soft scrub brush, and quickly rinse with cold water, being careful not to get on rotors, calipers,or car. my suggestion take wheel off and do it. cleaner is available at home depot or local hardware store. READ THE DIRECTIONS and follow them.

tntmcj-
Thanks for the information, however it seems like it would be extremely hard not to get the cleaner on the rotors or calipers, especially if you are spraying it on.

Is this how the dealers do it and if so how do they apply it, with a rag, a spray gun, etc?

Thanks.

wheel cleaning

for problem jobs or very picky people they pull each wheel off, for light jobs they use a spray bottle and lightly spray and wash off a few times.
