Spent $50+ for tire dressing, so I'm bracing for the acceleration into the future.
Optimum Power Clean and Optimum Tire Protection
Followed directions to the letter of the law
After it dried on my hands (will wear rubber gloves next time as I typically do) I got a hint why it might last "for months". It dries hard like dull nail polish.
Optimum claims "it will give you an easy to clean, good looking tire for months. Accelerate into the future without sling, oils or silicone."
1. tire rubber quality REALLY matters - my cheap Kumho tires don't work well with this product, but the 7 Series tires are holding up much longer and much better
2. small grooves (as shown in the picture) are a REAL challenge to clean/prep and evenly apply the product
3.I thoroughly cleaned and prepped the rubber THREE times before applying the product, but it still didn't set evenly. (see #1)
Thanks doc540. I just bought a bottle of my normal tire gel, so it will be some time before I try something else. A bottle lasts me a long time. It gives consistent results on any tires.
