I travelled quite a lot in Mexico with my past job.. and I've never seen an MB the entire time there... but then I didn't make to Mexico City.
You may need to drive your car to the border to get proper service... are there any MB dealers in Mexico City with Diesel mechanics?

it's confirmed - I have the first E220 CDI in Mexico
there are a lot of MBs here in Mexico City now. But most of them are gas Cs. Going to US for service ? Are you aware of the distance to the US ...?
today I went to the oldest MB repair workshop of Mexico and found that I can't get any kind of filter for my car, all need to be imported, 3-4 weeks I was told, as MB never opened te items in the system, that spares were never needed here.
I'm now searching for the part numbers of the basic spares and ask somebody to bring them from europe as I believe that in US they are not available as well. Although this may became problematic, I'm having some fun with the fact of being here far from basic MB stuff and loking for alternative suppliers etc. If somebody can help me ...

Not to be a spoilsport or to flame you; but did you ever bother to check things out before importing a grey market car. The results are what you are encountering.
