Much Less Giddy-Up After Trip
I drove from Phoenix to Long Beach yesterday to help my oldest girl-child move her stuff home. Very uneventful on the way over. Loaded up the car with her stuff (back seat full, trunk full, roof rack had 3 large suitcases), but it wasn't crazy heavy. Looked a little saggy, but it still was fine. Of course, the way back was different. The extra weight made a huge difference. There were many, many fairly level streches where I had it floored to maintain 65-70 mpg. Forget about the hills...down to 45 mph (after having down shifted). And I managed about 14 mpg, vice 22mpg.
Now....today after having unloaded her stuff, driving to work (75 mph freeway, 40 miles) the lack of power is still there. Normally I can set the cruise and it maintains 75 steadly. Today on the smallest grades it was dropping off to 65 or so....and it had the same result with the cruise off.
I will probably change filters tomorrow to see if that does anything. Any other ideas?
