Fuel Economy?
Does anyone know, or know where to determine at what speed the MBZ team was cruising
when they did that one tank of fuel run of 1039 miles with those three Bluetecs
from Laredo Texas on the Mexican border to Tallahassee, Florida?
These three Bluetecs averaged over 48 mpg for the 1039 miles on one tank only.
My question is: At what speed were they cruising?
Can someone answer this for me, or at least point me in the right direction?

I know . . .
That's what I want to know.
Most cars will get terrific highway mileage when cruisng at rather low speeds, but . . .
How do you do that on those Interstates that surely have a minimum speed limit?
Someone must know. I emailed ole Wolfgang twice now, but no answer yet.
Maybe they do not want us to know that juicy tidbit?
I cannot believe that they also say that those three Bluetec cars got 40 mpg
when running flat out on that run for 100K miles, can you?
Maybe it is true?

like your Alda video
They didn't, they averaged almost 18mpg. Pretty darn good for 145mph.

Your manual diesel sounds really good. Manual 4 speed must be a very good option on a turbo diesel as it keeps the engine on the boil and within the turbo engagement range whenever you want to accelerate. With all the junkie stuff like EGR off the engine must be singing all the time. I wish I can get a car like that in Toronto!
