Lightbulb DPF / LTF / DOC / DMF Muffler?

I was reading that Donaldson (www.donaldson.com) has a variety of muffler products to retrofit diesels for better emissions, mainly focusing on particulate matter reduction.

Does Donaldson make a muffler compatible with Mercedes diesels?

If so, has anyone retrofitted their car? (What part number and what are the results?)

Seems like since the ULSD is now on the market, this would be product the EPA would be pushing for consumer class autos.

I am unsure if particulate filters do the same job as mufflers. One catches the soot and the other kills the noise. Why make trouble for yourself? Enthusiasts cannot chop these off fast enough.

If you want to reduce emissions, ride a bicycle. You already drive a car that's cleaner than 75% of the gas cars in the USA.

It takes energy to make a bicycle. Coal, steel and other smoke stack industries are needed. Most cheap bicycles are made in China where pollution is a virtue and sulferous emission a thing of beauty to behold.

Walking is best for our friend.

GM and Ford are making such huge profits (average premium of the diesel package is about $8,000.00) in diesel trucks and yet they are not putting their best Duramax and Power Strokes into the Suburban.

I wonder why.

MB is prepared to take the lead.
