Mercedes have pretty big wheel wells, I wouldn't worry. I've never dealt with an E300, but I've gone from 205/70x14's to 225/60x15's on a 380SL, a 300 CD's and a 300SD and on one 300CD I went to 235/60x15's with no problems.

Any reason why? I have found that buying higher quality tires improves handling and ride much more than wider ones. There are so many excellent choices in your stock size, I can't see the purpose.

thanks for your both of your replys, the car handels good with the stock tirers, thought it would look a little sharper with the bigger tire's.

If it's appearance you're going for, think of changing your wheels. I don't know if you'll really see a difference with wider tires.
