Greetings.
As the proud new owner of a 1978 300CD, I'm collecting online resources for these fine cars. In particular I need to know if the tranny in the 79 300D is the same that goes into the 78 300CD as I have a line on a possible donor.
My prior diesel experience is with my 2000 Jetta TDI and I can already tell there is a world of difference. The 300 I picked up came with a seized engine and I found a donor with a good topend out of a 300D of the same year. Yea, sorta playing switcharoo with a bunch of engine parts at this point.
Any thoughts, pointers, and suggestions welcome. Cheers!
