Trying to find information about the 5-cylinder engine used in the e290 td and the sprinter 310/312/412 etc, as well as other vehicles like the Daewoo Musso. I understand it's a direct injection unit and I know from experience driving it that the turbo spools from nothing and it's very, very powerful and economic.

Has anyone tuned one of these engines? How durable and economic are they? I know many people play with the 6 cylinder td engine and it's capable of high power reliably, is the 5 cylinder di engine similarly strong?

Has anyone tried a twin turbo compound setup on it?

Finally would it bolt up to standard boxes such as those in the w124?

I would call Brabus and see if they have any units for that engine, their tuning chips are supposed to be very good, not modifying injection pressure or turbo boost.
