Old 300D . . .
Hi,
New here ...
Been looking for an old 300D for a bit, as an added daily driver. Found one in fine shape, inside & outside, no scuffs, no dings, etc. Been inspected and all that. Is a pewter colored special edition model 1995 300D. As said, it is an oldie. For some reason, prefer that body style of that era over others.
Probably will be slowest ride in the forums. That said ... MPG had a lot to do with it. Since in my area, diesel and gas are but 12-cents apart, plus/minus one, or two cents. Cars of its size in gas mode, don't get near highway 31, 32 MPG, and so forth.
Anyhow ... my question is this ... the only thing I wish to change over are the wheels.
They are standard fair for this car, 15 inch and all. Tires are brand new, so wish to keep them.
Having difficulty finding wheels, I realize 15 inch size does add to the difficulty and all that.
Would someone be so kind in providing links, names of suppliers, what have you, for after market wheels for it in 15 inch size?
Thanking you in advance . . .
Jas

No such car if you are in the USA.
'95 would be either a W124 E300 or a W140 S350. The former is a nice car that had major engine wiring harness issues; the latter was known as the "rod bender" and is generally to be avoided unless confirmed to have received a late 95 repalcement crate engine under warranty from MB.
Check eBay for various MB or AMG style rims that would fit either model.

you can find some descent rims at tirerack.com , you can find some that are a direct fit, i would not get low profile rims or tires, it just makes the car ride rough, and you will go through tires.
