1986 300SDL power question

Hi - I've had my 300sdl for about 2 years now and just rolled 265,000 miles on her. She is in excellent running condition, doesn't leak or burn, averages about 27mpg on the highway but I've been curious if there is anyway to increase the torque on her for city driving and starting from a dead stop without causing other problems in the car for regular driving? The engine was replaced by MB at 100K due to the aluminum head's cracking which I've heard is a common issue for the 126's. The Tranny was rebuilt at the same time - all by the prior owner. She has plenty of power once on the highway and once moving and even from a dead stop to starting considering she is not a sports car and the weight alone it is not bad at all but it feel like there could be some more torque in her to get up and go. Not looking to win 1/4 mile runs or sqwuak the tires - just some better power from a dead stop. Anyone out there have any ideas or maybe looked into this before? Again I don't want to damage the integrity of the car as most of my driving is highway and this has been the most reliable and well built vehicle I have ever owned in 20 years.

Thanks for any ideas/info,

Brad

A VNT turbo will make a night and day difference in stoplight acceleration, even without touching the fuel settings.
